What if.....

Is there a moment in your life today, that you just sit there and think, the “what could have been and what if’s in your life?” I often do. If my day is going slow, I often daydream about that “what could have been” if I didn’t come to US? What could have happened to me if I did not marry at a young age? What could have happened to me if I stayed in the Philippines?




Sometimes, these questions linger on my mind and I kept asking myself, WHAT IF? If I think about those things, I smiled and said to myself; whatever I have today is what I have chosen to be. Whether I may like the outcome of the decisions I made years ago, it is what it is. I cannot undo the things that happened in the past. I can only learn from my mistakes and I can only do better.

Like you, I have made poor decisions in my life. Whether it was personal, career wise or emotional---I have made mistakes. If you would blame yourself for the poor choices you have made, you are only hurting yourself and you are stopping yourself from moving on. It’s okay to cry if you are hurt. It’s okay to be lonely if you are disappointed. But do not let it settle in you.




You must step up and say to yourself, I AM STRONG, I CAN DO THIS! Move on!!! It’s never too late to do something for the better. There is always time for everything. Do something to get yourself out of where you are now. And do not forget to always ask guidance from God.

“Do not worry about anything, instead, pray about everything”. Philippians 4:6

What did you get this Christmas?

I am sure you are all excited opening your gifts this christmas. Some of you may get what they really wanted for christmas, either it could be the GPS system you have been wanting to have, the Apple Computer you've been dreaming of or anything you would wish to have. I am sure you got good gifts , if you have been good this year *(:>* hehe. Well I think I have been great. I received what I have been longing to have. I can't tell ya what it is..LOL

My Bestfriend

I am so proud to have found my bestfriend. Her name is Rochel. She is also a Pinay, maybe thats why we clicked so well together. Well, let me tell ya, the first time I met this girl was when she was assigned to help out our branch since we were short of staff. She came in and I was so glad to meet her especially when I found out she was a Filipina. She only worked in our branch for a couple of days which really was not enough time to get to know her. 3 years later, her branch manager took over our branch to manage as well, so we were kinda just one branch together though we are two different offices. Later that year, my manager transferred me to the main branch. Rochel happened to be working there too. At first, she was like, WHO IS THIS BITCH?!?! She did not welcome me with open arms..believe in me!.lol.

Our stations were next to each other. We talked and talked in tagalog that our co-workers are telling us that they are tired of hearing us talk.lol..sometimes they are happy to see if one of us has a day off...(means silence to the branch). Sometimes they tell us they are going to give us a fine for every tagalog word we say.lol



It sure was all FUN!!! I love this girl. She made me realize, there is life outside work and home. She made me feel like,I am not alone. I can tell this girl, basically everything about my life, how I feel, and everything else even if it does not matter at all, or wont make sense at all. We laugh, we talk about people and we laugh again, we laugh and laugh and laugh more.LOL

Now we are working at different branches but we still talk on the phone , see each other or email each other everyday.

Are you ready for School?

Tomorrow is the registration for school for the spring semester. I am quite excited about this new step I am taking. But I am very proud of myself for taking this chance.I will be taking Business Administration -Management. This will help me develop skills necessary to perform a broad rage of duties in virtually every sector of the economy. Management positions are available in nearly all industries including engineering, insurance,education,finance,technology and social and health services. With a solid background of Banking, I am sure, I will do just fine, God Willing!

Christmas is here! This tree is located in Rockefeller Center in the Big Apple. Very Very Nice to look at and the place is so crowded especially during weekends. I went there with friends from work and we had so much fun. It was a bit cold but it sure was a good night to just chill out and enjoy the company of good friends.If you are around NYC and haven't visited the tree yet, you should go. It's worth it, just bundle up so you don't freeze.(LOL)

Anyway, I hope you guys will have a great holidays. Enjoy it with your family or your loved ones.

What a beautiful morning:)

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is a beautiful day. New York is so pretty when it is Fall season here. I am sure everywhere in the US is pretty these days. Fall is my favorite season. I love how the leaves change its color. The temperature is getting cold now. Oh how I hate cold. But I can deal with it.:)

Do you know what are you going to do today yet? mmm I started my morning today with a good cup of coffee I made. Ohh call me stupid, but I just recently knew how to make coffee here. I was never a coffee drinker till I got here in the US. Pretty Impressive huh..LOL .In addition to that, in the Philippines, we really never make coffee like we do here in the US. We use instant coffee there.LOL.

Honestly, I do not know what to do yet today. I am usually not off on saturdays but if I do, I always do my laundry. But today is a difference.:) I did my laundry last thursday already so now, I gotta think of something I would do to keep myself busy.

Maybe I will do my christmas shopping today.It really depends on what mood I am in..lol..sometimes I go to different stores in a day and go home empty handed.LOL

Life at Work

Finding a job here in the US wasn't easy at all. First I was so hesitant because I did not have any experience when it comes to banking. Feeling so, I still applied for a job in the bank as a part time teller. My son was 3 months old then, so I didn't want to work fulltime. He was too young but I really had to work and I felt bored being at home. So I applied for the job close to where we lived at that time. Months after, I was offered full time hours. So I decided to take it. Things happened so fast that after 9 months, they offered me a position as a Head Teller. Every opportunites I took and I see it as a blessing and at the same time a challenge. I was a Senior Customer Service for a 3 years and recently in January of this year, I got promoted as a Consumer Banker. I love dealing with customers. If you are not a people-person, this job is not for you. Besides the goals you have to meet every month, you always make sure, that you go beyond your call of duty. You make sure that you go that extra mile to make the customer happy. Customer service is the life blood of the banking industry.

Anyway, I am going to be with the bank for almost 5 years now and everyday is always a brand new day. Things change everyday. It is exciting and I am loving every moment I am of service to my clients.

I love my job. I take pride being with the World's Local Bank.

The Birth of my son, Robert William DeCaprio

Few weeks after our honeymoon, I have found out that i missed my period. I told my husband about it and we waited for another month before we had a pregnancy test. A month after I missed my period, we bought one and few minutes after, it was showing that it was positive.It was a mixed emotion. Iwas soooo happy yet I was worried. I was worried that I did not have my family with me. How can I raised this kid without my mom guiding me what to do? But sure it is very rewarding.I feel like this is it. God completes my life by giving me a treasured blessing!

My pregnancy wasn't at all a bed of roses. The first 3 months was pure puking..LOL I was sick to death! Everytime I eat something, I easily throw it up. I was so sick plus I missed home (Philippines).But I am glad I surpassed it all.

April 8, 2003 was when I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.8 lbs and 8 ounces.Big Boy huh!! Oh well, I had a c-section so it was all goood.:) Anyway, I was on labor for 13 hours..OUCH!! Yup sure was! But after those long hours, I heard my son cry for the first time and it was all WORTH IT!

Robert William is what we named him. Robert is Joe's father's name and William is my father's name. We named him after our father's name as thank you to both of our fathers.

Robert William is now 4 years old and he is now in pre K. He grow up to be such a pleasant boy. Truly a blessing and happiness to us. I wish him to grow and become a better christian..

May 22, 2002

May 22, 2002 was date I first came to the US. I came here on a Fiancee Visa. I met my husband through a popular website sometime in 2001. He visited me in October 2001 in the Philippines and started the paperworks for my visa right after his visit. I was so excited to come to the US. Who doesn't? We all wanted to be here.

So when I arrived in New York, JFK Airport, I was so amazed at how beautiful the place is. When we got out of the airport and drove down to where my husband lives, I could not believe I was in America already. Everything here is so beautiful like the places we see on TV, on the movies and even those pictures we see on postcards. Everything is perfect.

When we got to his house, I did not know that he planned a little surprised party with his friends and family on the day of my arrival. When we got in the house, I saw balloons.I saw flowers and I got to met the most important people in his life----his family.They all welcomed me to their family. I was so embarrassed. I have never seen so many americans in one place all my life.LOL that was the first.

It was all GOOOD!!!
